Jake Porway
Entrepreneur in Residence
Jake Porway loves seeing the good values in bad data. As a frustrated corporate AI scientist, Porway co-founded DataKind, a nonprofit that harnesses the power of Data Science and AI in the service of humanity by providing pro bono technology services to mission-driven organizations. In his decade there he experienced the trials and tribulations for non-profits, governments, and even corporations in using data and algorithms well. He has taken those learning lessons to the field-level, supporting philanthropy and governments to create healthier AI-for-impact ecosystems. He is excited to build Decoded Futures with Tech:NYC because he knows the power of the NYC tech-for-good community and is eager to build a program that accelerates everyone’s work.
